Our Dual Qualification in Kitchen Management and Hospitality Management (Operations Stream) offers a practical and career-focused pathway for those looking to build strong operational and leadership skills in the hospitality industry. This program is designed to take students from hands-on kitchen operations through to broader hospitality management roles, preparing them for long-term career progression.
Throughout the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (SIT40521), students develop essential practical skills required to operate in a commercial kitchen environment. The course focuses on food preparation, kitchen operations, team coordination, and maintaining quality and safety standards, equipping students with the confidence to work effectively in fast-paced hospitality settings.
Progressing into the SIT50422 – Diploma of Hospitality Management (Kitchen Stream), students further expand their expertise with a stronger emphasis on kitchen leadership and operational management. This stage focuses on kitchen planning, staff supervision, workflow management, compliance, and business operations within food and hospitality environments, preparing graduates for senior kitchen and supervisory roles.
Students will engage in a balanced mix of theoretical learning and hands-on practical experience, supported by trainers with extensive industry backgrounds. Practical placement opportunities are integrated into the program, allowing students to apply their skills in real workplace environments and graduate with industry-ready experience.
Upon completion, graduates will hold two nationally recognised qualifications, opening doors to a wide range of hospitality career pathways — from skilled kitchen roles to supervisory and kitchen management positions within restaurants, hotels, cafés, and broader hospitality operations.
